wile means manipulating someone by making them believe. Her woman wiles were so destructive.

ennoble is to raise to rank of nobility. He was ennobled to that rank in a filthy way.
tourney is a medieval entertainment between the knights. He died in a tourney from the strike to his chest.

pomp means vain and pretentious display. British weddings are long on pomp, but some of them are short on substance.
